OK so the Toby is only from one workhouse to another, a mere 12 miles, door to door.  But try doing it with boots that don't fit properly and, while you're doing it, remember that the vagrants who tramped these routes in the past also had bad footwear and most likely empty stomachs as well!  Now continue tramping for the rest of your life or until you find yourself in the workhouse or infirmary.
