Local Stories

During our fund raising event for the Jubilee party we thought it a good idea to keep the residents informed with a news letter.  This was to tell them how things were progressing, how much money had been raised and what we were going to do with it.  We also investigated the community's history and with each publication we had an article of what life was like in the area in years gone by.

Local History

The following pages cover articles written by Russell Chamberlin who we are lucky enough to have as our resident historian and author.

An here are some recollections from past residents:

  • 2003 -- Interview with Jack Forbes
in an interview with Jane Thomson

  • 2009 -- Letter from Colin Saville

Recent Media Coverage

We were very lucky that due to the size of our party word got around and as a result the Surrey Advertiser dispatched two journalists and a photographer.  This produced a convenient platform to launch our publicity campaign, the fund raising was underway.
