Murder at Local Attraction benefits Guildford based Charity
Notorious Blackmailer is found Dead
A popular Guildford attraction was
the scene of a stabbing in the early evening of the 19th
November when a well known blackmailer was found dead by guests at
an event being held there.
The Spike in
Warren Road, scene of the murder, was hosting a fish and chip supper
for local amateur detectives when the alarm was raised.
A body had been
found in the Spike’s Internal Waiting Room, once used to process the
casual workers and tramps that came to stay for the night. A dagger
was nearby and assumed to be the murder weapon, the victim was
identified as local felon Mr. Black a well known trouble maker and
there were a number of people who had a motive for the killing him.
The amateur
sleuths took some time to discover that Black had been blackmailing
Mrs Peacock over an affair she had many years earlier which had
resulted in the birth of an illegitimate child.
After the
murderer was detained, the evening continued with a raffle of prizes
and the Charlotteville Jubilee Trust’s first murder mystery evening
went on to raise £150.00 for charity Guildford Action, who are
celebrating their 30th year caring for the homeless and
less well off.
Many who attended
the sell out event said they were looking forward to the Dickensian
Evening taking place on 10th December 2011.
